Fight of the Mights !

In a conversation, my heart had with my head
Heart tried taking a practical stance and said

I am an outcome of thy's mood
So i have the right to be nice ,irritable or shrewd
Head decided to bring its emotions to the scene
Calmly waited for heart to finish for it to intervene
Head decided to beg to the heart
Because head knew melodrama is a calculated art
A little too much is over
A little too less is bland
Once rolling in the emotion,
Just use the magic wand
Ask the heart for a favor that's rare
And heart will have only love and fulfillment to spare

My Glass House

This piece is written on the pretext of Syrian Boy Alan Kurdi found dead on a Turkish beach .The poem is written in first person because it is a not a lesson to preach but unfortunately a transparent view point of me, you and many like us .

"Speak as we shall,
The brutality of the world is conveniently cornered somewhere
Cornered in newspapers, in history discussions
Cornered beyond borders of hope
Cornered in the anger of the accused
And cornered in laws beyond scope
Convenience, or rather, numbness is a habit,
A victim of this habit gets blinkers by the side
Until it effects my ‘limited us’, I am not going to get off from my monotonous ride
A mere scratch here and I shall revolt and embark
For what effects my ‘limited us’ can only ignite the spark
Sadly, my ‘limited us’ is different from yours or others
And remember to not believe me when I call you a brother from another mother
Because hypocrisy preaches fire and follows water
I might preach humanity but I shall secretly follow slaughter
years of ignorance and I have finally mastered the art of cornering what is gloomy and far
Seems like I am doing justice to my hypocrisy bar
Although I innately fear my bad days
But this habit is reciprocation, it is two ways.."

Diceland!

Ever misplaced your pair of dies in the monopoly game
Ever thought the colour of dice now and the colour you had is not really the same
A shade too dark gets replaced by a shade too light
You tell yourself, it must be your callousness responsible for this colour change plight
Well, my dear gamers, the truth is far from what you perceive
Your blinkers might not even allow you now to believe
But, as they say, lies don’t have life dated eternity
Time has come, when I roll you to the Dice City!
They call themselves the ‘Fortune Tempters’ a niche of a tribe
Born with just 1 face, as they grow, rest 5 take time to ascribe
With their city carved out into 6 lanes, 6 blocks
Sea waves hit every 6th second on hexagonal rocks
Their phase of literacy includes tricks of trade
Like which face to show, the one wished for or the one that everyone forbade
Another lesson which gamers perceive as luck
" which side to fall when balanced on its edge?
Should I fall immediately or should the spin time be stretched?"
All this, while ensuring smart players don’t deduce patterns in their moves
As a part of emergency evacuation, if confused, they are advised to fall into unseen grooves
Behind the sofa, below your shin
Ensuring, never for you, it is an easy win
After a tiring game of spins and falls,
They go back to their native land, with their cat crawl
To send their counterpart back to your box
While they go back to the land of hexagonal rocks
The new die is almost the same shade, but not really, Almost as old? barely: D

Rusty Shadows

When the sky struggles to keep the sun
And the night strives to liberate the moon

When the night sky wants to build on the surprise
but the moon wants to barge in too soon

When nature makes clouds fiercely bright
When the shimmer of sun isn't gone but gibbous moon's eagerness got no respite

That is the only time when shadows sleep,
Active all day with contours sharp and deep

Fortunately away from borders of caste and creed
Because the silhouettes are same for a stone and a seed

Will the seed blossom or just roll like a stone with time
Is not left to the time worn bets of dime

Unmindful of jewels it adorns,
It is inside this shadow that a fair human dawns

The same human in you that believes in fair play
The same human in you who dies everytime differences of creed make their way

Beware ! Though the shadow is fair , it is not stronger than you
If not awakened, it will fall off from the leaf, like that drop of dew

Time has come, when we think beyond our myopic scope
Because if these shadows rust, dies our only hope....

Tryst of Old With New

Days shall never know of the storm,
The storm that hides in the folds of night clouds
Until it sends a warning with lightening
The lightening which gets stalked by the sound
Twigs realize soon
That the buds and the fresh leaves might not survive
The pull of just the crescent moon,
Will today be enough to cause the high tide
Broken twigs and buds will swirl with their dying mates
The mammoth pile is dry, with dark spoilt shades
Turmoil finally settles when the wind catches its original breath
But by then, part of the nature has made its peace with death
However, before we miss , before farewells we bade,
About to bloom on the trees, are new blossoming shades
And in no time, we talk about colors shining bright
Almost forgetting, gone are the old trees which stood unnoticed from our sight

Beware of your empty mind

From the creeks of the rusted mind,
Came a sound unknown and coarse,
Asking me , " are you not filled with remorse ?"
Immediately my mind dug out all remorse it could from the past remains
To befit the feeling like many a sane
Turned out mind was playing 'mind games' with me
Enjoying how I react to a deliberate stimuli Thus I got into another vicious circle of ' why god why'
I was caught in the trap without any alibi
After the mind enjoyed it's little episode of fun with me
I realized, I better engage the mind
Because, what else can I be tripped about, is not hard for the mind to find !

Corona of Ice!

Fellow prisoners they were, fire and Ice
No one could ever ascertain if they were enemies or Allies
A close look deemed a doom for both
Cause each other's vicinity they couldn't bear
Fire found ice too calm and ice could not stand fire's temper anyway near
But strangely distance from one would bring other suddenly closer to demise
The splutter of their mood felt like the full moon causing a sudden high rise
For the equilibrium of temperature they created for their prison was just right
It left the ice glossy and fire with stunning mixed shades of orange and yellow light :)
